The Dog-Trot Cabin Repair

This cabin underwent an urgent foundation stabilization in 2023.  The rotten front and rear sill logs were replaced with wood that was cut by hand with traditional tools and then coated with pine tar and linseed oil.  The portland cement that was located between the logs was removed from the entire cabin.  In 2024, the cabin will be finished with a new chinking and daubing mixture more consistent with recommended preservation methods to ensure the longevity of the wood.
